Tailored Branding launch a brand new online shopping portal system

Our online web shops for sports clubs, organisations and businesses were a popular way for customers to shop and buy their team kit, with the option of personalisation on our old website. However, with new branding and as we diversify into new sectors, we wanted to create an online ordering system bespoke to each club, school or business with the key aim of being quick and simple to order from.

We’ve worked with Staffordshire based NetBiz on a completely new online portal based system. This allows each club or organisation to have its own web shop within a portal. Each portal has its own URL and can also be password protected if requested. Customers can then see the products from their own organisation only and order directly from us. Each portal is personalised with images and logos and delivery options can be added or removed to suit. We can also add in links to social media pages and club websites if required. Customers are notified of progression and completion of their order in real time via email.

Our portals are currently in use by schools, businesses, sports clubs and charities which reflects the diversity of this system to be able to create a unique platform.

For businesses, key features include – a manager sign off option, password protected site and the ability to place a proforma order which is then invoiced directly to your accounts department.

For clubs and organisations, it removes the stress of collecting payments and bulk ordering, with clear size guides for customers to use when ordering and a free collect from us option for local customers.

For charities, we can work with you to use this as a fundraising tool, whereby you receive cashback on each sale made through your web portal, factored into the garment costs when the portal is created.

Check out a couple of examples of our portals here…. We love creating new portals and ranges with our customers, so drop us a line if you’d like to find out more.

Breaking into new sectors: School Uniforms

It will come as no surprise to any parent reading this article that schoolwear is seen by the majority as a grudge buy. You have to do it, you want to wait as long as possible but don’t want to risk the shop running out of uniform in your child’s size…

We felt exactly the same when our daughter started school, which was the catalyst for us to start researching the market further.

Currently 85% of schoolwear sales are done in store, only 15% online. It’s a statistic that bucks every trend in online shopping, so why? A quick trawl of school uniform suppliers across the internet and its fairly easy to see that many online shops are outdated and difficult to navigate and provide little practical information about sizing or fit.

Back in October 2018, we attended the Schoolwear Show, an exhibition for school uniform retailers. We learned a lot and came away inspired to create a better service for parents and schools.

In December 2018, we secured our first school. Exciting times followed as the headteacher decided to use this as an opportunity to make some well overdue changes to the uniform, including a re-design of the school logo.

With our support, the school ran a competition for pupils to design the new school logo. The winning logo was selected by a judging panel and the logo re-drawn by ourselves. The winner was then presented with the first new school jumper to be embroidered, along with a framed award.

The new uniform was launched, followed by the release of the new online ordering portal which is simple, informative and practical to use and also links in with Stikins – a name label printer who donate a percentage of their sales back to the school.

Now mid way through the summer holidays, we have received some fantastic customer feedback, on both our service and the products. We work closely with leading schoolwear manufacturer David Luke who supply our skirts and trousers which are made from 100% recycled polyester. Choosing suppliers with strong ethical and environmental values is important to us, and our customers.

We embroider 100% of the school uniforms ourselves. This means that if we are running low on stock, we can generally restock within 24 hours so parents should never face the situation of being left weeks without the uniform they need. We stock everything from socks to shirts, so other than school shoes, we can be a one-stop shop for parents looking for a simple way to buy school uniform. We deliver free to schools during term time and offer a free click and collect service. Home delivery is also available at a flat rate.

As well as our online service, customers are welcome to come in, try on and buy in our purpose built school shop area. Its accessible for prams, with changing rooms and free parking right outside.
